In a revamp of the old favorite, explore the former coal mining towns of Stony Valley, part of the southernmost portion of the Lower Anthracite Region in Pennsylvania. During the mid-1800s, the communities of Rattling Run, Dauphin County and Yellow Spring, Rausch Gap Gold Mine and Mount Eagle, Lebanon County were thriving industrial towns, now explore their ruins from your seat in this approximately 30-minute slideshow.


A Journey Along The Schuylkill & Susquehanna Branch:

Discover what it was like to ride a mixed train (train hauling both passengers and freight) down the S&S Branch from Dauphin to Auburn between 1900 and 1910, during the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad’s operation of the line. Pass by businesses and industries of yesteryear and landscapes common along the line. This trip back in time takes approximately 30 minutes in slideshow format.

Featuring a special addendum about Leonard Craig, a former resident of Fort Hunter and section foreman on the S&S Branch during this period.
